Well you wanted honesty…it’s out and on.
I’ve had enough of the COMPLETE and utter lack of both honesty and loyalty among the “Designer” community (if you can call it that). SO I’m going to the mattresses. “Designers” in SL have no loyalty…they have no pride, no shame, and no sense of moral rectitude. SL “Designers” deal in private messages, IMs, and whisperings…they will attempt to TP someone so they can trash talk on SL voice instead of in text so there’s no “proof”, they private plurk messages of any kind of detail so as to “play nice” or seem above the drama, but the fact of the matter is that the vast majority of “designers” in SL have absolutely no problem trashing and bashing one another on all possible fronts.
The issue I take with that is when there is no one and nothing sacred. There’s NO sense of loyalty. It matters not that you may or may not have helped them get started, that you gave them a chance when no one else would…it matters not that you are their SL “family” or that you have been “friends” for years. What matters is what everyone else is saying and what everyone else is doing and fitting in with the rest of the ”Designer” click.
It has come to light recently, with recent activities on the Rumor blog and sims, that several unscrupulous souls took the word of two unsavory individuals while very few people reached out to get definitive answers. That being said, let me break a lil something off for you. When it comes right down to it, Pennelope, whether you love her or not, has given TONS…literally TOONNNNNNS of designers a start, offered them a spot on a sim with steady traffic, and good marketing, as well as ENDLESS coverage on the Rumor blog. Some people then took it upon themselves, during an unscheduled absence that Penn took for personal reasons, to steal a LOT of money from the Rumor account and then have the audacity to make disparaging remarks both about Penn herself and about the Rumor as a blog/marketing machine.
When I first heard rumblings that the Rumor was being sold, as a personal friend to Penn, I did what any friend would do, I sent Penn an offline message to see if she was ok. I sent several subsequent messages…then I asked a few very close personal friends and was told to message Katya. I personally messaged her several times and only heard back once and was assured that the sim was not being sold and that Penn would be returning.
The figurative “balls” it must take on someone to steal close to 23k linden and then not only bail on someone they called “friend” but successfully encourage other lemmings to leave the blog, groups, and sims…must be massive. And the lack of balls on said lemmings, while not astonishing, is still reason to make me pause.
The issue at hand is that someone can call themselves a friend, a supporter, a confidant…and then talk ENDLESS amounts of garbage…spend hours making attempts to steal both Rumor business and reputation. I have watched as several stores left the Rumor and never bothered to even message Penn to touch base or ask as to what the fate of the sim would be. I find that repugnant and completely unacceptable.
But this rant isn’t JUST about the complete and utter lack of respect shown to Pennelope of the Rumor. That’s merely the tip of this proverbial iceberg. Some designers in SL are all at once conniving, scheming, backstabbing, disloyal, gossips, but somehow still manage to be completely under the mistakenly naive impression that SL chat is anonymous. Sadly, 99% of the time I wish it was, mostly because I keep my head down when I’m online and work and seriously just don’t care to hear it. SL is not anonymous, please take note, nothing is sacred and no promises are kept.
I am recently learning of the complete and utter nonsense that has occurred over incidents involving a close friend of mine. Aurora Deischer gave me a home in SL, treated me like a sister, helped me with events, treated me as an equal. Perhaps we don’t see eye to eye on all matters but we support one another and I am sickened and disheartened to continuously hear the ridiculous prattling on various blogs and plurk. Let’s set the record straight shall we? I cannot speak to the past, but what I can say is that when someone gives you a hand up, offers you a platform on which to stand, and you take it, you, as a decent human being, owe that person a debt of gratitude.
My former assistant has made quite a business spreading gossip and creating a riptide of drama on SL. Once our professional paths were permanently parted, this person took the knowledge and marketability that I shared with her as my assistant as well as the benefit from being involved with Saturday Night Fevah, For the Love of…, and Lazy Sunday and has managed to make quite a name for herself.
This should, in all honesty, be enough for someone, enough for a normal person to walk away. At least where I was concerned, I never publicly said a single negative word, in fact, when I dismissed Chaotic from my employ, I told people that she had opened a store and was working on her own projects. It was only later when I was hearing backlash that I became aware that the professional respect was not mutual.
A normal human being who has been given the gifts that she has been handed, would walk away quietly, smiling all the way as she can now use my store lists, as well as that of Lazy Sunday to build her events to success. What I am sick to death of is the added hypocrisy. When a person can stand behind a moral podium and complain that she has been wronged by gossip and drama, all the while spreading lies and rumors to get ahead is both laughable and ignorant. I’ve decided that I’d prefer to let the ugliness come out into the light than sit idly by and listen to one more person plurk or IM me about how sorry they feel for Chaotic.
People, like Chaotic, breed drama to drum up support, spread rumors and lies to gain momentum and popularity, and go to great lengths to seem “above the drama” when she herself is at the root of the dirty deeds. I have stood idly by and watched a team of narcissistic children masquerading as “Designers” rob my close friend of her sim and eventually her store. Most likely some of her “friends” have been taken in by her act, but any brave soul that wants to scratch the ugly surface can IM me for my chat logs.
I have heard the gossip and rumors, but until I see legitimate proof, proof enough to make me question my loyalty, I will stand by any of my friends. I dare the nay-saying drama mongers to give me proof of the complete and utter garbage they are selling to everyone else in SL. Until then, I say maybe keep your contrived subjective (and most likely borrowed) opinions to yourself.
Good for you Rhed! I applaud you for standing up and stating the truth as you see it, for sticking by your friends and showing common respect for people. Just keep on doing your thing, there are lots of us who appreciate it – even if we’re not ‘designers’. People who do these kind of things, well.. Die alone, fuckers. Die alone.
LOL Finny you make me squeeeee
I finally got over here to read this just now, and <3 you and your beautiful soul.
You can't imagine how much this makes my cup overflow. Out of all the people who support the rumor and myself behind the scenes, very few have the cajones to voice themselves.
To see so many people get run out of sl in such disgusting ways, because I promise you that Aurora and myself are only the tip of the iceberg, it's despicable. I hope that more folks start coming out of the woodwork. Maybe eventually an ACTUAL community of designers can develop vs plurks nasty coalitions.
/me ends soapbox because i could go on and on and on… and on
Since it seems like it’s the place to “speak our minds, then”, I guess that you will also accept that some people may have another vision of your “truth” than the one you seem to defend.
Let’s go for it, then.
A bunch of people know you in Second Life, for having organized some amazing events in the past year.Whether people appreciate your stores work or not, no one can disagree on the fact that you have been able to bring good events on the grid in a moment when everything was getting quieter for some reasons.
For this reason, a lot of people have been appreciating your work, store owners, shoppers…
If your aim was to get popular, through your events and even though you were away from Second Life for a while, you succeeded in at least making your events popular.
I therefore don’t think that anyone had anything against you and at least, I didn’t.
But my opinion changed while reading this post. I wish that my message wasn’t a personal attack. I don’t know you for real and how could I judge you ? However, you have to understand that some aspects of your tirade may be shocking to some people. And when we beg for respect, we’ve got to be the first to give it.
Let’s point at first at the condescending way you’re treating people who you’ll call “designers”. This is the name that we use in Second Life to refer to people who, by their own creative skills, share something with the grid by selling it or giving it away. The word will probably make a real life designer smile since we are doing it in a virtual world and the number of people that we’ll touch is less important that if we did it in real life and since it’s probably way more complicated to design something in the real world. However, every single person who builds on the grid does it with heart. Some may do it to make money, some may do it for the pleasure to create something. Some have huge skills because they have as a real life activity something to do with creativity. Some went to school to learn photoshop. Some started from scratch and they probably will get more trouble and will take more time to create something great but at least, they try, learn and it’s worth something.
The question is now this one… Do you consider yourself as a designer, by opposition to some that you’d qualify of “designer”, the ” meaning then “so called”… Like in “So called designers” ? If so, you’re pretentious and condescending.
If you don’t consider yourself as a designer, then, it is your own point of view and this is perfectly respectacle.
Nonetheless, you should then have explained your point of view about this, because all that it makes is making you sound very full of yourself and shows your depreciation of other designers. Sad.
Second point : we all saw in second life people going : “OMG I’M TIRED OF SL BULLSHIT !”. Then why don’t you leave or chose your friends better ?
We all have conscience that in a virtual world, we’ll meet people we wouldn’t even match with in real life. Of course, people, always used the web for bringing trouble. It happened way before Second Life was even a project.
Question is : What did you expect ?
Another : “What did you expect” point is about The Rumor.
How can you expect that people can have any respect for a website/blog that doesn’t respect anyone ?
Since it was created, The Rumor was an agressive place used by some chicks to rant about everything.
Let’s admit, everything that doesn’t fit the usual “Rumor” style is criticized in the most awful way as possible.
I hear you yet : “If it sucks, we have to tell it”. But girl, that is your OWN point of view. Telling “something is shit” is just showing off how stupid you can be.
You can LOVE something, you can DISLIKE something. You can tell why you love it or not but setting your opinion as a truth is just a proof of lack of open mindness and honesty.
The Rumor did not only accept agressivity & mean comments from a bunch of people, it also ENCOURAGED it, brang hate in Second Life.
Some events planners started being freaked out at the idea that the Rumor blogs their event. They sent notecards to people you’ll call “designers” warning them : “The Rumor is looking at what you create so it would better be good”.
Do you think that it is normal ? Do you objectively feel like ONE simple blog should rule what store owners create ? Do you feel like there is ONE way to build, ONE only style that works in Second Life ?
We have the chance to have in our hands the power to create a billion of different clothing pieces or haircuts or anything else. Why should we stick to ONE style because the Rumor will spit one everything that doesn’t fit their mind ?
It is absolutely RIDICULOUS.
Of course you may say that The Rumor didn’t ask for events planner and designers to freak out but sadly, when some people get repeatedly criticized every single week, you can notice that after some time, if they have the weakness to get sad of being treated in such a sick way, they will get out of the event, stop building or start making what you expect them to make.
The Rumor’s ways are manipulative. No one has the right to dictate to people what they should make. No one has the right to set his own opinion as a truth. Or this is called fascism and it sucks.
So, what did you expect ? That people shut up about what the Rumor is ? That people just sit and wait to be slapped in the face by overly pretentious so called bloggers ?
I saw Peneloppe pretending that no one had the balls to come to her and to tell her what they think about the Rumor. Did one member of her team had the balls to come to a designer and say : “your item sucks” ? No. They don’t. They’d rather play Miss Popular on the blog, showing off how awesome they are at being mean bitches.
Did you, Peneloppe, have the balls to go to a designer and tell them that they should stop building ? No, you didn’t.
Actually, the truth is that most of the people on the grid just don’t know about The Rumor (you all think that your blog is a big thing but let’s be honest, you’re not that popular), don’t care about it or just make fun of you…
Why making fun ?
First, there is your way to take Second Life as an extremely serious aspect of your life.
Being popular on the grid seems like your obsession.
Seriously… Why should be people be that serious about a virtual game and that even if they own a business in it ? Well probably because there is nothing else that is really interesting to do in their real lives ?
The question asked over and over again is : “how old are they to act this way ? That’s so high school…”.
Let’s be clear for once : No, most of the people don’t CARE for the Rumor or don’t love it. They just think that this nastiness outburst is just similar to the viciousness of a single and ugly teenager towards his cuter schoolmate…
So what did you expect ? That people love you, throw you flowers ? Consider you as awesome, invite you for diner or maybe to a fuck fest ? No one will.
So I’m just nearly dying laughing while I’m reading that designers OWE much to Pennelope. Do you call advertising the fact that some sick weirdo comes around your place to take pictures of your items then say shit about it ? Do you call that advertising ? Seriously ? Well Rhed, what kind of drugs did you take ? I want to get your dealer’s adress because being so far away from any sense of reality must be something.
About the fact that Penn gave us the chance to rent at her sim, let’s also be clear : most of the people who used to rent @the Rumor did it WITHOUT knowing the blog. When some ended up reading, they ended up noticing that it was stupid to pay someone who holds a stupid blog in which she’s badmouthing your shit or even other designer’s stuff. Now, the sim is half empty and you all seem to be amazed…
Well, just ask yourself why. Your sim is laggy, badly built and the stores owner who accept to be on have very few self esteem to accept to be criticized while staying there OR are your own friends that you will of course NEVER insult because of who they are.
People DONT support The Rumor. Maybe one or two. Blinded. With the feeling that they’ll get popular by following you, maybe…
Who can you trust in this world when you’re unable of being nice ? Be nice to people, they’ll give it back to you. Be an ass and you’ll maybe be trendy but then people will just be around you for your fame, not for who you are.
I’ll not get into the fight you are facing with the bloggers who had the kindness to maintain the sim while Penn was gone. This is your issue and doesn’t involve the rest of SL. It would have been nice that you understand it before calling someone a thief.
About Chaotic now. Same story. D’you have conscience that you’re publically difaming someone ? Do you know that it goes against the TOS even though you’re doing it on your blog ?
Rhed, just be honest. You left SL for months. Chaotic, who yet used to be your assistant, had perfectly the right to start her own events if she wanted to. And no, she didn’t use YOUR list of designers. Designers aren’t yours, they are individuals who chose to join an event not depending on who is hosting it but of the quality of it.
That’s sick to take such things personal. If you wanted to remain on the top, then you shouldn’t have left SL.
We all accept the fact that one day, RL may take over and that we’ll maybe have to back off SL for a while. If you leave SL and remove your store from the grid for a year, don’t expect to get the same sales and traffic when you’re back. If you’re into events, that’s the same shit, girl.
All of that being said, I hope that your intelligence will push you in understanding other point of views. Of course, this isn’t the easiest thing in the world, to admit that our friends can be bad people and can attract shit like Penn does voluntarily.
I wish you just find your way back to reality. Maybe a RL cure would help…
“Seriously… Why should be people be that serious about a virtual game and that even if they own a business in it ? Well probably because there is nothing else that is really interesting to do in their real lives ?”
hello pot calling the kettle black… you just wrote an entire crap ton on someones personal blog, freaking out over sl…
You know what? If you’re not offering a quality item, you’re not offering a quality item – (generic you). The fact that the Rumor blog has the balls to say so should be something they are applauded for, not condemned.
Just because a shop is offering a reduced price item, doesn’t mean that item should be shoddy or second rate. Frankly some of the stuff offered, I wouldn’t buy on a bet.
I’m just a little bitty store, and I don’t claim to be the best shop owner “designer” there is, but you can bet everything I offer to my customers for sale, is the best I can make it. And my prices are REGULARLY lower than most other shops.
And btw, you should look up what review means. It doesn’t mean “automatically gush at whatever is on offer” That is just being a suck up.
Furthermore, there’s nothing stopping some other blog from providing the genuine service which the Rumor blog does, i.e. offering good pictures and info on the events around the grid every week. Regardless of whether I agree with the commentary; it is undeniable that this is a genuine service and people should be thanking the blog for offering it.
Well let me just say in response….that to try to shame me for making a personal attack while making your OWN personal attack is at once ridiculous and hypocritical, and secondly I will say this I do NOT call myself a “designer” I use the word in parenthesis quite a lot tbh…I used to worry myself with what other content creators thought about my items and what they thought about my events, then it occurred to me that there are some people in SL that opted to become a “designer” not to create or even to have fun, but to become SL-famous. That being said, I find the entire notion about SL fame a joke. Let’s PRETEND that there are 80 INCREDIBLY talented designers in SL am I to strive to please THEM or the 10k people I have in my sub groups that want to have fun, be in amazing events, and get reasonably priced, well made items? I have many people that I consider close friends in SL that ARE incredibly talented and ARE incredibly kind, polite, respectful individuals. I DO consider them designers I DO consider them to be a gift for me to know and share my lil niche in SL with. The designers in my events for example, I do not invite designers into FTLO that I don’t respect. Respect to me is given until it’s absence is earned. Feel free to read that bit a couple of times for clarity. I respect EVERYONE, every designer, every blogger, every single person on SL, until they show me disrespect, unkindness, and disloyalty. My dad always used the expression “I give someone enough rope to hang themselves with” and I think that suits me. Does that mean I look down my nose at designers? No. Does that mean that I’m going to allow some stores to benefit from my decent traffic and amazing groupies when I know that they are doing dishonorable things behind the scenes? No. I do what I can to keep things like copyright infringement to an absolute minimum, I do what I can to put drama to bed, NOT BY AVOIDING IT like most people in SL, but by telling the truth as I know it to be at the time. I face things head on. If, in fact, in the long run I am proven wrong, or shown undeniable proof to the contrary, those that know me and know me well, know that I am the first person to apologize, and the first person to admit fallibility. I would also say that since you made attacks on both my personal ethics and my abilities as a designer, let’s talk about that for a second. I, like many, have had bad things posted about me on the rumor, and like many other people it made me mad at the time, HOWEVER, I chose to take that as fuel…I stopped churning out Tshirts and recycled garbage and used the skills that I DO have as well as added more to my arsenal. I won’t contribute that to the rumor as a whole but what I WILL say is that criticism can be constructive even if it’s not positive. I WILL ALSO say that since you choose to draw comparisons between Secondlife and real life, WHO IN THEIR WORLD, IN THEIR JOB, IN THEIR DAY TO DAY LIFE isn’t forced to coexist with someone they don’t see eye-to-eye with? Who in their “RL” doesn’t have at least ONE person in their mind, reading this right NOW with at least one person they work with that annoys the hell out of them, or that requires a little extra patience in dealing with them? I dare say no one would sit there and tell me that they don’t have an annoying secretary or someone that sips their coffee with a spoon for 2 hrs (that’s my RL coworker lol) My ENTIRE point is that there are people that we each must deal with and have an amicable working relationship with in spite of personal differences, it has evolved to the point, however, in SL that people feel that if they have a personal difference with someone or a disagreement, that the best route to take is instead of dealing with that in quite mutual and professional respect, they feel the need to post “Poor-me” drama stirring plurks or send private IMs talking utter CRAP about someone, they send personal attacks but NOT DIRECTLY…no…they take the cowards route and talk endless amounts of garbage behind closed doors. People tell me “Plurk is drama” is it? Or is it that people somehow feign a sense of anonymity on plurk and think that if they are PPing someone trash talk or drama that it’s not being copy pasted all over plurk and SL. All I am doing with what I have said is this. I am no longer going to participate in that kind of garbage. I will no longer participate in private plurks pertaining to someone talking crap about someone they hate but don’t have the balls to either ignore, defriend, or call out. I’m not saying everyone needs to confront their demons, I am saying, in fact, the opposite. If you don’t have something nice to say, don’t say it to me. Not because I disagree a lot of times, and not because I have always been above falling into that trap myself but because I am tired of playing the games that go on here. I have made a personal decision that if someone has the guts to PP me and say “You’re so right about what you said in your blog” they should have the cajones to say it in public. I think that a lot of people in SL work quite hard to seem “neutral” when in fact they are consistently working both sides of arguments and feuds equally. I find that disgusting and honestly quite pathetic.
ALSO being that you mentioned my “Loyalty” comments pertaining to the Rumor, let’s back the bus up. My opinions regarding the Rumor are just that, they are my opinion. Take it for what it’s worth and nothing more. Any two people that sit and argue back and forth about two subjective opinions are both idiots. SO you can think that the Rumor is a negative blog and I can think that no matter WHAT the Rumor content is, they get between 5-25k hits in a day, how they do it is up to them, but in SL there’s a BAJILLION stores…so it is in my opinion that in SL there is no such thing as bad press. Just look at that fuck-tard Vic ZuZu, he dicked his way into stealing other peoples well crafted machine and has done nothing but talk endless amounts of garbage about…well…anyone and everyone on the grid, and yet his group has 8128 people in it. I am by NO MEANS saying that’s right, or that it doesn’t make me vomit in my throat a little, what I AM, however, saying is that there are some people without morals, ethics, or scruples of ANY kind whatsoever that choose to create drama, chaos, and utter garbage wherever they go just to get a little spotlight and that sadly in SL that is unfortunately sometimes effective. What I will ALSO say about your post is that you made the comment “If you wanted to remain on top you shouldn’t have left SL” well let me address that for you there sugarplum, I never “left” SL, I had a massive emergency surgery to remove a very small portion of my kidney due to a quack doctor prescribing medications to me that caused massive contraindications in my body and ultimately sent me into kidney failure. Yeah you’re right, I should have been more concerned about “staying on top” lol , and let me state for once and for all, I am not now, nor have I ever been, NOR WILL I EVER BE…concerned with being “on top” in SL. I make clothes, shapes, poses, accessories, eyes, and very soon skins, and hair in SL, not to get “SL famous” because, in truth, that doesn’t carry much weight with me, I do what I do, INCLUDING organizing decent, well planned, well coordinated events in SL, because I like to. I think that some designers might not like me, I think that the vast majority of people that have made the effort to get to know me respect me and I’m proud of that. I also think that my integrity goes unchallenged, because while I do not always support the content of the rumor blog, I DO know that Penn did a lot for me when not very many people gave me the time of day. I DO know that when I was getting started I faced INSANE obstacles from absolutely insane people on SL some designers, some event planners….and that those that were with me from the ground floor, continue to be with me, and I like to think that that speaks to my integrity and respectability. I would never take that for granted, and for anyone that missed my comments about loyalty, the fact of the matter is, those that stuck it out with me have my loyalty and trust permanently until they give me reason point blank to deny that. In my humble opinion, that is how you conduct yourself both personally and professionally, when you want to be trusted and respected, when your own integrity and character means something to you. SO, in short and also in closing, while I respect you for speaking your mind, we’re going to have to agree to disagree, because in the grand scheme of things, I choose to support those that have supported me, not the fair-weather-friends, but the ones that were there for me when the going-got-catatroscrewed and when a lot of designers in SL couldn’t even be bothered to IM me a “no thank you” response to an invitation. Call me what you will. But I have to look at myself in the morning and be ok with “me”. I’m perfectly ok with how I carry myself in both SL and RL and I would like to keep it that way.
You know girls, I didn’t expect from you both anything else than this. But look at yourself… You’re just both pretending you hate drama and what do you do ? You’re creating it. Period.
WHAT did you expect ? You’re both pathetic really.
The moment you resort to name calling in a debate is the moment you show your lack of intelligence and your weakness. ALSO “Emilynightingale” curious name when your verbiage “…that Penn gave US the chance…” and “…WE all accept the fact….” would imply that you’re a designer that has worked with the Rumor and/or FTLO/SNF that being said, it’s easy to stand behind a curtain of anonymity and cast stones. I bet you’re even on my friends list, well…or WERE on my friends list. This is EXACTLY what I am referring to in ALL of my previous comments. People would rather hide behind a WordPress that they made SPECIFICALLY to post on my blog and cast stones, be brazen with their verbiage and name calling, as well as pretending that their motives are honorable, than actually speaking from their heart using their actual name. To scared to sign your own letter? Then don’t bother writing it. Put on you’re big-girl-panties and “man-up” or shut-up and stop proving me right by being EXACTLY the example of what I am talking about. AGAIN, LET ME SAY NO ONE HAS TO AGREE WITH ME, OR BE BOTHERED TO READ MY BLOG, IT’S MY OPINION, I’M ENTITLED TO IT, IF YOU DISAGREE, HI5…IT’S AN OPINION, YOU’RE ENTITLED TO YOUR OWN. BUT IF YOU DON’T HAVE THE LADY-BALLS TO OWN YOUR OWN OPINION AND OWN UP TO HOW YOU ACTUALLY FEEL, WHEN I’M MORE THAN WILLING TO SIGN MY NAME TO EVERY POST……..that says more about you than it does me.
You know, I guess sometimes it pays to be small potatoes. I’m a little fish in the big “designer” pond in sl and most of the time I like it that way. This is one of those times.
I have my main shop on The Whisper and I’m happy there and have every intention of staying there until or unless I decide to build my shop somewhere else.
I knew Penn had personal rl stuff happening but I had no idea some of this behind the scenes stuff was happening beyond being able to read between the lines and guess that there were money issues based on some things that were said.
All I can say is, I think it’s very shabby that Penn was treated this way and I think instead of acting like a bunch of cliquish high school girls “designers”, they should get a grip and be a decent human being.

TY for speaking your mind and using your av’s name. I appreciate that not everyone is capable of being upfront about how they feel and think and I appreciate your candor.
All this drama over a blog, a sim, hearsay and people being downright retards?
I’ve been in secondlife for coming 6 years and have been building and designing for just as long.
Don’t throw rocks in glass houses. (Personal Attacks being rocks and glass houses being Secondlife)
Im not taking sides at all because I myself both love and respect Rhed & Penn even though i barely know them at all.
But being as a sideliner all i can say is if people don’t want the drama?, don’t create it. Ignore the dramatising whores, we’re all adults right?
If someone wants to be a thief, report it to LL & if they don’t want to listen, report it to the police until you are heard and action is taken.
Anyway thought i’d stick my two cents in because im bigheaded like that
Also miss “emilynightingale” When you take on the role of a blogger, the whole point is to put your opinion out there and quite frankly if you don’t like our opinion that is up to you. Just saying. The Rumor blogs weekly events, sales, hunts and so much more. We blog what is there. If we don’t like it we will put it out there. You arent expected to like EVERYTHING.
To my first comment, i really dont know how to word things when im tired, I didnt at all mean anything negative towards Rhed and this post because it is all point of view. Emily, you made a huge fuss Secondlife yet you indirectly claimed its just a game. meh im finished, i couldnt delete my comment and reword it so whatever hahaha.
LOL I wrote my response at 6am so I understand completely! Ty for the post and your honesty, I take no offense to anything anyone has said, even “Emily”. TBH, I respect honesty and the ownership of opinion (even when it contradicts that of my own) much more than the normal routine in SL of speaking one’s mind but only in situations of anonymity. SO thanks for posting and thanks for your honesty! <3
“but the fact of the matter is that the vast majority of “designers” in SL have absolutely no problem trashing and bashing one another on all possible fronts.”
The fact of the matter is that this has been the environment between *designers* since designers began to sell their creations. Many, Many designers have left SL for the sake of sanity alone. I have never created clothing……but I have had handfuls of friends who do…… and the whole environment in SL between designers is just caustic… and always has been that way. Nothing that happens in SL though can change who you are.. and the best thing you can do is to take a step back, Grab a glass of wine.. and go watch a movie for the night…… take a 24 or 48 hour break ….. because when you come back… you will see that it’s just like any other soap opera……. you can catch up on the dirt in the first 5 minutes of the show …. and realize you didn’t miss a beat…….. but you can save your own sanity….. and your energy for what you do best…… creating from your hearts…….
Lotta facts here based off of “people” in a grid with millions of actual people whom can’t be generalized like this.
Listen: The service that The Rumor provides, along with any other fashion blog, is showcasing Items for sale at this weeklies or hunts so that we don’t have to visit each one only not to buy the item. I am assuming here, but I would wager that many of us who read these blogs don’t give two shits what the commentary is. We just wanna see the item & the info, and that’s it. For that, I appreciate those bloggers, and again, really -do not care- what else they say.
